Candace Brabant, M.F.A.

Adjunct Professor of Illustration / Fine Art

Candace Brabant is a Southern California-based artist who specializes in illustration, visual development, and design within the entertainment industry. Her goal is to find creativity in the world around her by expanding on the mundane with the unexpected. This often leads to designs that are tied to reality but are often other worldly in some way. Candace was an independently contracted art consultant for various school districts to teach art to at-risk youth, ranging from kindergarten to pre-college teens.

Working with traditional and digital media, some of her clients include UCR, YWCA, The Boys and Girls Club, and other non-profit organizations. Her work has been used for merchandising, featured at expos and conventions, won various awards, and hung in galleries throughout the Los Angeles, Glendale, Orange County, and Riverside areas.

She moved on to DreamWorks Animation, where she worked alongside the feature film Visual Development team and assisted the Education department to host art classes for employee development. Afterwards, she decided to once again, combine her love of art, education, and helping others by teaching both privately and at the university level while continuing to freelance and create commissioned work for various clients.

When she is not pouring her soul into her work during the many hours in front of the Wacom screen or drafting table, she is pouring herself a green tea latte and enjoying it with her hubby and tiny pup.
