Sybil Barrido, FASID, NCIDQ

Adjunct Professor of Design

Sybil Jane Barrido has established herself as an innovator in the design industry. For twenty years founder and principal designer at SJVD Design, Barrido specializes in Hospitality, Urban-reuse/Development, and Commercial/Residential projects. Sought after both nationally and internationally, Barrido’s design approach reflects extensive research in design management together with a sincere collaboration with each client. Combined with timeless style and natural grace, these allow her to capture the human spirit behind every project.

With a B.S. in Interior Design and an M.A. in Design Management, Barrido is the co-founder and executive director of The Center for Interior Design Executive Resources, providing design research, design strategy, analysis and consulting services. She holds professional membership in NEWH; professional membership in ASID, in addition to, among other appointments, serving as the President of the ASID Los Angeles Chapter, Chair of the CST Representative to the National Board and as an At-Large National Board member; has served as a qualified juror for NCIDQ Certification; and is an Adjunct Faculty Member in the Department of Interior Architecture at the prestigious prestigious Domus Academy School of Design at the New School of Architecture.

She is a NCIDQ certified interior designer, Certified Interior Designer in California and a Licensed Interior Designer in the state of Florida. In July 2017, Sybil was inducted into the ASID College of Fellows, appointed to serve as a CIDQ Council for Interior Design Qualification Ambassador and in August 2019 was appointed to serve CIDA Council for Interior Design Accreditation as a Site Reviewer.
