Professor of Architecture
Luis Fernando Nunez earned a degree in Architecture and a Master’s in Architectural Design in Mexico, graduating with honors. He later completed a Ph.D. in Architecture at Texas A&M University, where his doctoral thesis was published in 2007. He served as a full-time professor at Tecnologico de Monterrey, Queretaro Campus, holding leadership roles including Director of the Architecture Program, Department Director, and Dean of the School of Architecture, Art and Design for the Central Region. In 2019 and 2020, he taught at the Savannah College of Art and Design in France and Universidad Cuauhtemoc in Queretaro, Mexico. In 2021, he became a full professor of Architecture at Judson University in the Chicago metropolitan area under a three-year grant, which was later extended at the request of faculty and students. He is deeply committed to teaching and to sharing his passion for architecture with his students
As the head of his professional firm in Mexico, he has completed over 30 architectural projects, some of which have received national recognition. Notably, his design for the School of Architecture, Art and Design at Tecnologico de Monterrey earned LEED Platinum certification, making it the first educational project in Mexico to receive this award. He is married and has a daughter and a son. He enjoys playing tennis, soccer, and chess, and also likes to sing Mexican songs.
